state of emergency new jersey

Highway crews and hospital workers remained open on high alert, and police were advising drivers to stay off the roads.

“Hopefully, most people will wake up, pull the covers over their heads and decide not to go out on the road,” State Police Superintendent Rick Fuentes said. “The less cars we have on the road, the less accidents.”

Dears Of The Day

Dear Lane Bryant,
I am not plus size. Please stop sending me catalogs. You're not helping my self esteem.

Regards,
Not Super Skinny, But Definitely Not A Big Girl

Dear AT&T,
Your map commercials are fucking annoying. I don't really swoon over Luke Wilson to begin with (and Owen too, actually), so thank you SO much for confirming my hatred for him by paying him what I'm sure is a ridiculous amount of money to tell bold faced LIES regarding Verizon's coverage.

Sincerely,
Faithful Verizon Customer (& proud owner of a DVR so I can fast forward through your ass)

Dear underwear,
I know I'm not helping you out any with the continuous growth of my rear end, but please stop cutting off my circulation. There are only a few of you left in my "these can still comfortably fit" pile, and I'd like to wear you all again eventually. I promise I will not replace you with (*gasp*) large size garments. just please be patient.

Love Always,
The Ass In Which You Wish To Cover

Dear Pheobe,
Stop being such a little whore to Bear. It's to the point now where he walks (kind of swerves, really... he's special) in the opposite direction when he sees you coming. He knows that you're going to growl at him and try to claw his eyes out. You should know better.

Regards,
Your MOTHER

PS - stop sprinting into the bedroom every time I open the fucking door. you know I'm just going to chase your ass until I can grab you and throw you back out. you never win at this game. give it up.

Dear BGE,
While I take great pleasure in your service, especially the heat which keeps me warm during these frigid months, I would greatly appreciate a little warning the next time you want to ASS RAPE me with a $428.00 electric bill. Last month's $415.00 bill was fucking awful, and so I've been watching our electricity use closely this month... even turning the heat down a few degrees when I leave for work... and yet my bill goes up. I would really prefer at least some lube and cuddle time next month.

Fuck off,
Your Loyal Customer, Who Will Never Get Ahead Thanks To YOU

Dear Dad,
I know you have an incredibly terrible relationship with your girlfriend/baby mama, but honestly... it's not my fucking problem. Not only did you choose to move this crazy bitch into your home, but you then had unprotected sex with her, resulting in my little brother. Wyatt is amazing, and the coolest little kid ever, but keeping her around for his sake isn't really helping him much. I've given you the SAME advice for years, so please don't expect any sympathy when she goes on a crazy rant after a week's worth of normalcy.

Your Only Daughter,
Mandee

PS - I could really use a raise. See above RE: my electric bill.

powerball winning numbers

The winning numbers for tonight’s $115 million jackpot for the Powerball lottery are: 17, 22, 36, 37, 52. The Powerball is 24 and Power Play is 2.

Tonight’s drawing was the first one involving New Jersey lottery players. New Jersey started selling Powerball tickets on Sunday.

Powerball lottery tickets were a popular item on their first day of sale in the Garden State on Sunday, according to New Jersey lottery officials and retailers. About 10,000 to 15,000 tickets per hour were sold for the multistate lottery that day, said Dominick DeMarco, the state’s lottery spokesman.

State officials said revenue earned from Powerball sales will benefit the cash-strapped state Treasury. They said other state lotteries have seen increased sales after adding Powerball with very little impact on existing lottery games.

Powerball is available in 41 states, as well as the District of Columbia and Virgin Islands, with drawings held on Wednesday and Saturday nights at 11 p.m.

New Jersey is already part of the multistate Mega Millions game, which is drawn on Tuesday and Friday nights.

random thoughts.

My digestive system has been all wonky lately. I'll go days without pooping, and then have water ass for a day, and then back to being stopped up. WTF stomach?

I'm so sick of snow. We've gotten approximately 30" already this winter and I.am.over.it. We're supposed to get a huge storm this weekend, which will, ONCE AGAIN, prevent me from running weekend errands. fuck you, Mother Nature.

I went grocery shopping tonight to try to avoid the crowd, with no such luck. I don't know what it is about snow that makes people freakthefuckout. Last time we had a big storm, I went shopping the night before (it had nothing to do with the incoming snow... we had just moved and literally had NO food in the house), and the store was full of empty shelves - mostly in the eggs/bread/milk/chicken areas. It's not like a fucking meteor is coming and we'll be holed up in our bomb shelters for months, people. It's snow, and it'll be cleared up in a few days... I'm pretty sure you won't consume 7 loaves of bread in that time. Put it back and share. Now.

I love cheesy reality shows, including (but not limited to...) Bad Girls Club, Jersey Shore, Worst Cooks In America, Biggest Loser, American Idol, Big Brother, and Hell's Kitchen.

I would rather scrub toilets than wash dishes. I fucking despise doing the dishes.

For some reason, Pheobe is being a cunt lately. Every time Bear walks near her, she growls and hisses at him, and then proceeds to chase him and seriously attempt to hurt him. I don't know what her deal is, but she needs to cut that shit out.

I am guilty of responding to everyday statements with "that's what she said." Sometimes when it doesn't even work, but I still find it hilarious.

I totally forgot to switch my Nuva Ring last night. Thankfully, I remembered on my way home from the store and did it when I got home. It was easier to do the first time. I was really strugglin' there for a minute.

Sean & I are both atheist. For some reason, people get really offended by this, even though it doesn't concern them. We don't look down on, nor do we judge, those that believe in God. Why do those who follow organized religion find it necessary to make a big deal of our beliefs (or lack thereof)? I don't get it.

I would rather rock a fab pair of earrings than a big necklace.

I find new home decor/design blogs to subscribe to/follow everyday. I currently have 32 blogs in my Google Reader, and I'd say about 86% are house blogs. Addiction say what?

Speaking of addiction. A&E's Intervention makes me freaking cry every.single.episode.

I don't even know what time my favorite shows come on. All I know is they magically appear in my handy dandy DVR, ready for me to enjoy.

I keep thinking today is Friday. shit.

Wedding Wednesday - V. I

It dawned on me this morning that I've never shared any wedding pictures here, with the exception of one picture in my very first post (fo fost). We'll be married 6 months next week - it's so hard to believe the wedding was that long ago! It's still crazy to think that day is long gone... with all the planning and crafting and coordination it took to make the day perfect, it went by incredibly fast.

I figured I'd start a weekly post of wedding pictures for your (slash my) enjoyment. Obviously no one cares/cared about my wedding more than I do, so if you're not diggin' the wedding pictures, feel free to skip Wednesday posts and wait for the next.

This week's installment will feature some pictures taken while the bridal party were getting ready. Who doesn't love getting all glammed up for a hot day in August? All photos are credited to the lovely and talented Jen, from JLowe Photos. If you'd like to see more of her work, feel free to visit her blog here.

Looking at my wedding pictures makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, which is great, considering that Maryland got yet even MORE snow last night. I don't ever remember getting as much snow in this area as we have this year! Our last big storm was December 19th, and we accumulated about 2' at my house. We've had a couple days where we get a few inches here and there since then, including last weekend, and again last night. Apparently there's supposed to be a HUMONGO (yes, that's a real word) storm heading our way that will hit us this weekend, and we're supposed to get even more than the last "big" storm. I don't know about you, but I'm fucking OVER winter. I'm ready for sunshine, and green trees, and blooming flowers.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the show!

ivan mccartney

Miramar WR Ivan McCartney signs with West Virginia -- not Miami

He has plenty of teammates -- including his former quarterback -- at the West Virginia.

He spent his final official visit at Miami and has spoken very highly about Florida.

For weeks, there's been plenty of speculation about where Miramar receiver Ivan McCartney would choose to play college football.

Wednesday morning, the U.S. Army All-American made it official and signed with West Virginia.

McCartney, who helped lead Miramar to the Class 6A state football championship, was one of the few players in South Florida who opted to wait until National Signing Day to announce his college plans.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound McCartney was a Sun Sentinel first-team All-County selection after making 37 catches for 747 yards with 10 touchdowns.
